MARS 2020 - NASA, Perseverance Rover and Ingenuity Helicopter

On July 30, 2020, the Mars 2020/Perseverance rover launched from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS) and headed toward Mars and its Jezero Crater.  It launched on a ULA Atlas V 541 rocket, procured under NASA's Launch Services Program and will travel over seven months before arriving on February 18, 2021.  Upon arrival to the Jezero Crater, Perseverance will spend almost two Earth years, or one Mars year, searching for ancient life and collecting rock and soil samples to potentially return to Earth! Be sure to also keep an eye out for Ingenuity, the Mars helicopter, that hitched a ride with Perseverance to the Red Planet!  Ingenuity will be testing the first powered flight on Mars!
